Student Education in 2018

Secondary Schooling:

We are Educating and boarding 5 students at Kijjabwame secondary school in Masaka, Kijjabwamei Secondary School.

Our aim is to give these students an opportunity to study to ‘O’ level where they will gain a leaving certificate which is necessary for them to take further study or seek employment.

Junior Schooling

This year we have only 1 student at a junior boarding school in Masaka. He is doing well and has become a school prefect.

Vocational Training

We are sponsoring 7 students at Salaama Vocational and Educational center, a Vocational school in Lyantonde in the Lwengo district of Uganda. These students are studying various courses, Tailoring with fashion and design, Woodwork ( furniture making), Building and construction, and Mechanics. Their Future is so much brighter and more positive now.

Alistera’s journey to the African Mercy Ship for her facial reconstruction

House of Hope Uganda inc was responsible for the travel arrangements and the surgery opportunities for Alistera.

Alistera, her father and Dr Osire flew to the Congo Brazzaville to board the Mercy ship on September 3 2013.

To date Alistera has undergone 2 operations, one to repair her eye and mouth and the second operation to begin the rebuilding of her ear. We are expecting her to need another two operations and to hopefully return to her village around the end of January 2014. Alistera is recovering well and is enjoying being the centre of attention.
